Once again, I noticed it has been several weeks since I last posted here. Not to worry, we still remain full of activities and day to day happenings. The girls are in the midst of swimming lessons and doing well. We need good swimmers since we visit Lake Michigan and the ocean! Noe isn't in any swim lessons for one reason. She is beyond the ones for her age...lol. Noe thinks that she has the last name of Phelps once it comes to water. She jumps in the pool on her own, gets out on her own by climbing out of the side in the deep water (not the ladder...no, no). She likes to lay on her back to float etc... Maybe they will let her into Pollywogs next year even though she won't be quite old enough to go. I know she would listen. Speaking of Noelliah, she is an absolute bag of laughter. The child doesn't miss out on anything. In fact, as we passed the next door neighbors house last night, she called out, "look, Graycie". Mind you, she hasn't ever met the cat in person but you'd better believe she has heard her sisters talk about the cat every time we walk by. She knows all three of her own cats by name and can distinguish them even though they are all very similar in look. Animal lover...extraorindaire. It is hard to believe that the girls will be starting school in less than a month now. We tend to enjoy every second of vacation. While they are on summer break, so are mom & dad. I need to get their items ordered pretty soon. I missed the early registration like an idiot even though I had a note on my cabinet telling me to do so. So much for saving $50! We are almost entering the insane birthday time frame for our household. Keirah wants a Rapunzel cake. Aliyah who has a birthday very soon doesn't have anything on her list and doesn't know what kind of cake she wants. She just tells me that she isn't the type to have a bunch of things she wants. She informed us the other day that she will have a pet adotpion area at her wedding so people can adopt animals. Wow..just wow! If she could, we would own all of Pet Smart. We do well just to take care of our furry menagerie plus a frog. The only animals she doesn't like are snakes and rats I think. She did hold a Japanese beetle at the pool and gave it a home there before we left. Once again...wow! YUCK!! Keirah enjoys being the princess and plays with dolls, dollhouses, and any other tiny item we have. She and Noe love to play. She is doing well with swimming, but needs to work on the backstroke. She is very choosy about her outfits and shoes and likes to wear different hairstyles. There is no cutting allowed on her hair. Sometimes I think I may have to cut it at night. There's a lot of maintenance involved with that mane of hers =). It has been one DRY summer! Rain has been pretty scarce. I've been relishing in the cloudier days. I think it may give our yard/flowers a break. Yes, the yard is still green, but only because we water it. Since we spend so much time in our yard, we like soft, green grass...not crunchy. We did enjoy a day at Six Flags over the 4th of July holiday. The cool thing was that the girls and I got free tickets because of this reading program they have for homeschoolers. The only ticket we had to pay for was Josh's. Six Flags has changed quite a bit over the years. There are lots of coasters there, but the place is just one big money pit. They want you to pay for flash pass, tons for food/drink, tons to park etc...Basically, it rivals the cost of Disney World and is probably more expensive for a park that isn't nearly as nice and clean. That said, we got to ride a lot of rides because it wasn't very busy (whew) and we had fun. The girls rode Coasters with us, but seem to prefer the more low-key rides at this age. Of course, Aliyah isn't as tall as most her age so her ride-ability for many big rides is limited. Well, that's it for the moment. I know that laundry is calling my name as are other household tasks. That's fine because I love this family of mine and it is all a gift!
