November came & went with not one posting from me...oops! I always think about blogging, but it is one of the first items that I probably skip in the midst of other activities.
Days have been full as always with my time after work consisting of cooking, cleaning, schooling, craigslisting, grocery/Christmas shopping, taking care of my children, etc...
Craigslist has been an overall nice alternative this year to eBay. I've been an eBayer for probably 10 years, and have seen so many changes that I like it less all of the time especially when it comes to selling. Ebay charges ridiculous fees when the item sells not to mention the paypal fees, and then they have taken away anything good from sellers. I'm amazed they still have what they do! Craigslist has its downsides, but has turned into a great supplemental this year. We've had so many things go up in the past couple months (insurance and real estate taxes to name the biggest) and an injury where Josh missed a couple of days of work. Unfortunately, in our state, to get paid work comp one has to miss at least 3 days of work. He missed 2 full and part of another. We weren't aware of this policy until 2 days ago...nice! So, c'mon Craigslist...
We are counting down the days (currently at 1) until Josh gets the short arm cast. He has a cast covering his bicep right now...nice 90 degree angle. He has the urge to just straighten the arm out, and I can't blame him. I am excited for him to have more arm mobility after tomorrow. I can't imagine how excited he must be to feel a little bit more normal. Supposedly, after that it is 3 more weeks in a cast and on to some physical therapy. We shall see if we can fit that into the schedule...lol!
I'm still thankful his injury extent was the wrist and nothing like what could have happened.
Shopping now is quite "fun"...ha! We went to a local dept. store the other day to pick up some gifts. That was a "dangerous" adventure for sure. It was really like me with 4 children. They have these tiny shopping cart things which are approximately 24x24 at the biggest. So, large enough for Noe to sit in this little thing and add one item to it. The items we were getting were larger items and kind of heavy. First of all, this cart thing got stuck on the carpet trim and banged so hard into my shin I thought I would pass out. It made my stomach whoozy and my leg throb in pain. Then, Josh was trying to carry a box in one arm and kind of lost some balance kind of freaking him out. I don't know how we managed to purchase the items and get them out of the store. Ugh!!
Onto the fun things...we have been doing our family tradition of driving around with hot chocolate (sometimes) and checking out everyone's Christmas decorating. Many have decorated this year, and we love those drives as a family. We have decided that we really don't like the sapphire blue Christmas lights that play with the eyes.
The girls are full of excitement as children are this time of year! They love to sit and look at the lights on the tree or watch for Taggie to be in a new location. Taggie is our little "Elf on the Shelf". The most sweet thing the other day was a little conversation with Aliyah that went like this:
Aliyah: Are you excited?
Me: About What?
Aliyah: Christmas
Me: Yes, of course. What are you excited for about Christmas?
Aliyah: Oh, the celebrating and people coming over to our house to visit.
She happily left the room after that. I so appreciated that tiny conversation. Her heart is so sweet and the focus is so great!
Keirah has been such a lovely helper. She is Miss Organized. She loves to help with wrapping gifts, cleaning, laundry, loading/unloading the dishwasher etc... I love her funny fashion-y ways too.
Noe is busy as a little girl could be. She is the "jingle bell bandit" in our home. I am forever finding these little bells all over the place. In the car, outside the crib, in the crib, with her toys...you never know where one will pop up.
She loves the lights of course, and these cute little musical dancing Christmas penguins that we have by our tree.
We're so blessed and thankful for our three sweet girls! They make life so fun!
I have one more item to purchase and Christmas shopping is done. 95% of the items are wrapped as well! It is nice to be able to be done at this stage and not have to think about going out in snow when that time comes. One thing I like to try to do is put serious thought into what we get for our giftees. It is fun to find that out-of-the-ordinary thing that you hope will bring a smile. Some have been easier than others!
Well, I'm hoping to possibly blog more often, however if I don't anymore this month...Have a Blessed Christmas. Spend time with those you love and make beautiful memories together!!!!

You are so right about ebay!
They are only interested in protecting their power sellers-their moneymakers. The rest of us-who cares! I gave a bad review first time ever, to a power seller that did not accept returns and totally misrepresented their item. Ebay sent me an email asking me to change my review to good, and they would refund my money and let me keep the object. Very unfair to all the little guys!
I have been enjoying amazon and thrift stores!
