Well, I think this is the first year that I can honestly say this...winter has pretty much flown by for us. We have been very fortunate to experience a mild winter thus far with minimal snowfall (big, huge smiles from me). Last year, winter was something else. It isn't easy to haul around an infant seat by yourself along with your two other children in the slick ice and snow. Many times it is me and the 3 girls going places when daddy is working.
I have said so many times this winter, "those aren't January skies". That elicits smiles from me as well. I detest January gray. I love sunshine and no shivers. We have been able to take some walks in all of the winter months this year. That hasn't ever happened before.
We had a busy week this past week, but what else is new in our house? We sold a stove, got a new one delivered to start. Josh had a couple of appointments after work on Wed. with the eye dr. and the arm dr. The arm dr. wants him to do physical therapy to regain full motion in his wrist. It is optional and we have decided for now to skip the PT and get the full motion back by working on it a little harder at home. We don't have time to fit in an extra 2 or whatever appointments a week that are optional. I had to get my oil changed and good thing I did as there was also a nail in my tire that I didn't know about. We have had it a few weeks I know because one random day the light flipped on to air that tire. I didn't have to do anything after that and we even drove to Chicago on it like that (unknowingly).
On Wednesday after the appointments and work, we had to move our entire LR and closets out and pull up carpet in preparation of our new carpet. Fortunately, as soon as we had it pulled up, our buyer was there to get it.
Thursday was busy with the carpet installation. That took several hours and then clean-up and putting everything back together took more hours. Throw in the grocery store and a visit to Lowe's and it was a VERY FULL day! The great thing, we love our new carpet and the LR and closets got a full cleaning! No wonder I was sooo tired though!
Monday, the repair people come to look at my washer. IT started getting loud on the spin cycle and I knew from previous experience that a bearing was going out. They have to do extensive work on this type of washer for even something as small as a bearing. Well, I was weighing the option of calling a repair person or looking for a new one, Josh was trying to remember just when we got it. He decided to go look for the receipt as we had purchased the extended warranty. He came upstairs to tell me that it had been 5 years to THE DAY that we had purchased it. We got online and made our request so that we would make it in the timeframe of 5 years. What a blessing that it happened in the nic of time to get repaired under warranty!!
Anyway, every time I do laundry, the washer goes off balance now due to the bearing problem. I know the repair person won't be able to fix it until after the part is ordered and in as we had the same thing go wrong with it before. So, when I do laundry, I have to watch it so I can "fix" it every time it goes off balance and get it going again.
Now, I need to go grab my little can of paint and do touch-ups around the living room. Getting new carpet requires that as there are knicks (sp) everywhere.
The girls are on the home stretch of schooling for the year. We work really hard in winter so that when the weather is nice we can enjoy it to the fullest. Kiki will finish Kindergarten in probably a couple of weeks. Aliyah will be done in March sometime. We look forward to it as well because it is a break for us!!!!
Well, my list is calling as always!
