Thanks Gpa & Gma

...for making Aliyah smile!! Her enthusiasm for earning money to help Carlos hasn't waned. She excitedly adds up her total each night.

It's Friday and I actually forgot to get the mail in until just a bit ago. I know...how do you forget the mail?? Well, I did. Aliyah had a letter from her Grandpa and Grandma. I gave it to her to read. As she read it, a big smile spread across her face. She then began hopping up and down. Grandpa and Grandma sent her $$ for Carlos. She said, "this is the best day since Christmas". She is so excited as she has earned $15.80 to take for Carlos on Sunday.

According to Aliyah, Carlos and his brother and family do not have much in the way of anything. Wherever they live is not safe or nice and Carlos needs money to attend school. She feels sad for people that do not have very much.

The life lessons in this are enormous. We have gotten to talk about prayer, giving, and loving this week. I told her that the Bible says that it is better to give than receive because giving brings joy to the giver. I think she has already realized this because every time she talks or thinks about giving to Carlos she gets so excited.
