New Year: time to try new stuff =)

Happy 2012! Lots of fireworks rang out around us for hours last night. I think the warmer weather played a big role in that. We rang in the New Year as a family and watched some of the fireworks out our upstairs window.

In my last post of 2011, I noted that I would be posting some new stuff this year and money saving ideas and such. On that note, I'm gonna start off with a few products that I was able to try thanks to BzzAgent. They sent me coupons to try an appetizer, pizza, and dessert all from:



Prior to this, the only thing I had ever had in the Private Selection brand from Kroger was of course the ice cream. I knew that was very tasty, but I wasn't aware of the wide variety of artisan-like foods that PS had available. That said, we were eager to sample!

They have great variety to choose from even for their pizzas. It isn't your everyday sausage or supreme, but so much more. They have Fire Roasted Vegetable and Roasted Garlic & Pepperoni to name a few. I popped the Roasted Garlic & Pepperoni into the oven for lunch and immediately my tastebuds began to water. The smell was unlike any other frozen pizza, we had ever tried. I couldn't wait! The taste was so full of flavor and the crust was very thin almost cracker-like. (my favorite type of crust) It was wonderful from that first amazing bite to the last. Hands down, this frozen pizza is the BEST OF THE BEST and we have tried MANY!

The desserts were decadent. We have tried two different desserts. First we tried the Apple Crisp and then the Belgian lava chocolate cake. Both were very easy and quick to make and the perfect size! They tasted like desserts we have tried at great restaurants! We loved the way the warm chocolate just oozed out of the center of the Belgian lava cake. Our tongues were dancing with pure chocolate-y goodness!

If you have a Kroger or Ralph's in your area, go and try out their line of Private Selection foods. You will NOT be dissapointed. Everything comes in a pretty black box. I have seen a few times where Kroger offers coupons for $$ off your next shopping order after you purchase some of their Private Selection foods. The Private Selection foods are located with other foods of the same type. If you are looking for the pizza, go into the frozen pizza section. For dessert, go to the frozen ready-prepared dessert section.
