Winter

Although I'm not a fan, Winter provides an opportunity to do all kinds of things that we are too busy to do during our favorite seasons (anything but winter) =). So, what do I do to fill my winter weekends and evenings?

Lately, I've been on an organizational binge. Remember my last post on Hoarders? Well, I've been cleaning out totes, purging, minimalizing... Ya know, I've found a lot of stuff we simply don't need anymore. I'm turning it into cold, hard cash! Stuff has been flying out the door (no kidding). Gone are my days of Ebay and paying to sell my stuff. Hello to local sites like Craigslist and Regional selling pages on Facebook. It amazes me what sells on those sites that may never sell on EBay or vice versa.

Every item that goes out the door gets me one more step toward being more organized. I've been through every closet in our house now, all of the totes, toyboxes, and most of the drawers. I need to look through my dresser still. Once I've finished with that, I will look at things around the house.

Beyond my organizational winter work, we do our MAJOR work on school during the winter months. Not that we've slacked off through fall because we haven't, but each night involves work with Keirah on reading, helping Aliyah with fractions and long division along with a History State Notebook for Illinois and so on...Our goal is to finish in March. That means keeping organized and staying with it!

In my spare time...(what's that), I am working on a Christmas Shutterfly book, updating Noe's baby book, compiling and filing our taxes, laundry, and general cleaning. Yikes, that must be why I'm tired tonight.

Josh is starting to feel more normal in the usage of his arm, although it isn't back to 100% yet. He has had his cast off for 1 week now. Improvement is evident which is nice. I'm happy to be back to having only 3 kids to take care of again =).

Well, I'm gonna sit and watch some House Hunters and other such shows. Enjoy your January. Today was our first snow. Until today, our winter has been perfect.
