Eww..Disgusting...

That's what Keirah would say. Yes, I am posting more today than I probably do in 2 weeks! I couldn't resist this though, even though--I still have a disgusting taste in my mouth. Well, it's Saturday and the girls went down for a nap. I switched laundry loads and thought why not?? So, upon getting up I thought of the cherry chip cake I made the other day. It had no frosting, just yummy cake. The family demolished the first circle pan pretty quickly, but I knew the second pan had some cake left. I went downstairs, took the foil off and sliced into it. I kind of crumbled which should have been my first clue--duh! I went ahead forked it up and put it in my mouth---ewwwwww DISGUSTING!! It definitely went bad. I'm not sure how I missed smelling it, since now that has been all I smelled since then. I spit it out, rinsed my mouth--you get the picture.

I also noticed where Josh had tried to call while I was taking a nap. I called him back, told him about my cake story to which he proceeded to tell me about his lunch. You see, I got up this morning and made him a lunch. He loves his sandwiches "dagwood style". I piled it up with meat and only one slice of cheese--the way he likes it. As I was packing his lunch, I did a little fridge-straightening etc... He loves to eat and while he only weighs like 150 and is 6 ft. tall, he can eat more than a 300 lb. man! I loaded his lunch. He had Pringles, some Doritos, a pack of sliced apples, a thing of Yogurt--in coffee flavor, rice cakes, an Airhead, a peach in addition to his sandwich. I wanted to make sure we was nice and full during his long day at work. He didn't get to eat until about 4 pm, and was sitting down to his lunch. He started with the sandwich and thought the turkey on the sandwich tasted kind of funny--so he discarded that. Chips--they were fine, peach was fresh so he opened his bag of sliced apples...they "looked" fine as well. He told me they tasted like vinegar and the date on the package was like June 28--oops. Moving on...rice cakes were fine, Airhead, and now the yogurt. He opened the yogurt and said he almost gagged --it was separated and smelled really rotten & nasty. So, good thing I packed several items or he would be starving even worse than he probably is right now. I kept apologizing to him, feeling bad about his HORRIBLE lunch. He was laughing and I was even glad that I had tasted some of that cake so I could empathize with his horrid experience.

You see, we go to the grocery store every week, but sometimes we just don't continue the same eating patterns. Sometimes, we eat a lot more at home and sometimes we eat out more. Lately, Josh has been snacking on different things when he gets home which could be why some of the stuff went bad before we realized. I just bought the yogurt this past week--so I don't know what happened there. The turkey lunchmeat was just opened when I made his lunch this morning--I didn't check the date until he mentioned it. Yep, June 11th--eww that's why. So, I purged my fridge while on the phone with him. Now, I have some garbage to empty and a smelly cake pan to wash. I have gum in my mouth, but I can still somehow taste that horrible cake!
