Deal Day

Before I tell you about our "deal day", I have to update that Josh finished the inside wall of the porch---HURRAYY!!

Tufsey ran off last night after Josh was finished working, and I think he will stick around more often now. He was laying on the trampoline this morning when we were getting ready to leave. Um, yeah something really got a hold of him last night. We are guessing it was the mean stray that wanders around. Poor kitty had blood on him, had some cuts on his paws and there was even blood on the porch wall and floor. We put Neosporin on his cuts and spots so he will feel better. He has been around home today. He likes to wander around outside, but he truly isn't a fighter--thus the fact that he is pretty beaten up.

We thought about swimming today, but it was overcast/breezy so we decided to run errands instead.
No luck on the bicycles. They only had 3 or 4 and they weren't something we would like. We headed to Target only because we needed a hand towel and washcloth. It's odd to me that you have to pay almost as much for the hand towels and washcloths as the towels themselves. Only thing is...hand towels and washcloths are MUCH smaller than a towel. Well, I felt sort of lucky to find one of each on clearance. We also picked up a couple of boxes of Crayola crayons (.30) each and some note cards. We went through the check out and our total was $5.17. I had to smile...it turns out the towel/washcloth that I purchased were 75% off. They were the brand I wanted and everything.
On to Lowe's...we went there for something specific, but they didn't have a nice selection. We proceeded out of the garden area to the main part of the store where we saw a clearance rack thing. I saw two light fixtures on it (perfect for my main floor bath). I've been wanting different ones for awhile, but hadn't found anything that I was that crazy about. The ones in my bath aren't that bad, but as usual my tastes have changed. Josh told me at first that they were $34.98 and I said...then they must not be on clearance. He then saw the clearance sticker...$5.00!!!! These came with the glass votive shades and everything. You can't even buy the glass shades for $5.00 anymore--I know because I have looked in the past. =-)
After Lowe's we went to Sears where we typically find good deals as well. We found a few things and even some items that I was plain happy to find since other stores have discontinued them. I have a Libman microfiber mop cleaner thing. It's not a mop, but whatever the case...when we purchased it, everywhere sold the refills. Granted, I purchased it several years back, but at the suddenly inflated price of everything, I don't feel a big urge to buy a whole new handle/thing every time. They are more than double what they used to be in price-- usually $15 or more now. I know when we bought it, it was probably under $7f for the whole thing. Well, nobody sells the refills now and we needed one.
Also, I was using the Pledge floor cloths (just like Swiffer, but much cheaper at $2.99). Target quit carrying them and replaced them with a generic brand that has less cloths in it for more money--go figure. So, I was delighted to find BOTH the pledge floor cloths AND the Libman floor cleaner refill head thing at Sears!
So, now Josh is installing the $5 lights in our bath--yay for deals. Oh yeah, we also went to Wendy's (my fave fast food place) and tried their new boneless chicken wings in bold buffalo for me and Asian for Josh. Yummy!! Josh got a bonus because he got my leftovers which he of course gobbled up.
