This has been my weekend to catch up on all of those lovely things around the house that need work. Dusting, vacuuming, laundry, windows, gardening to name a few. I am happy to report that progress is being made.
I went outside this afternoon to see what it felt like and the garden was pleading to me to please come and weed it. The bad news is, there are TONS of weeds due to the weather I guess, but the good news is the flowers and plants are doing quite nicely thanks to the monsoon of rain we've had! In the afternoon sun, I toiled and sweat!! I pulled and pulled and pulled those weeds. I wasn't going to stop until I had weeded them all. The whole time I was working in with the flowers I got to hear about ants. I even had the privilege of having some crawl on me.
For some reason, my 5 yr. old LOVES ants. If there was an advocate group for them, she would be the leader of it. I was supposed to find food for this baby ant, watch out that I didn't hurt any ants, and kill some spiders that might get the ants. I was asked what black ants like to eat to which I had to reply "I don't know, haven't you learned that yet??" After I finished and got rid of all of the weeds I pulled we straightened up and picked up sticks. Time for a drink and some A/C!
I came inside to wash my filthy hands and chill out by checking on the blogs I read regularly as well as peek at Facebook. I love Facebook! I have found countless friends from college who I have lost contact with. Well, upon reading my aunt's blog, I made a couple of comments. I don't typically comment, but today I did and oops--it let her know that I have a blog. My blog hasn't been something I have kept up with--only started. One of these days I will develop it more. So, since she posted it on her blog--here we go. There are tons of thoughts to post, sometimes I just lack the time to post.
So, thanks for reading about my sweaty afternoon. I think we'll go sweat some more and go take a walk. We try to do this daily and both of my girls beg to go. The 21 month old taps on the trunk of my car because that is where her Bugaboo is kept. She was doing it earlier, but I wanted to hold off until the sun went down and it was cooler. Ok--so we're off to walk and then continue my catch-up weekend.
