Fresh Air

Do you ever have one of those days where you just can't wait to be outdoors and breathe some nice fresh summer air? Today was a gorgeous day--a few billowy puffy clouds, no humidity to speak of and right around 80! Does it get any better??? I am a huge fan of summer. In fact, I wait all year for summer to arrive and never want it to end. There are those beautiful summer nights where Josh & I sit and talk on the back porch. Sometimes Aliyah will come outside and swing for awhile in the dark while we are out there. Then there are the summer walks--good for exercise. Don't forget the pool--I have a couple of water bugs at my house =).

Well, I knew today was one of those days that I couldn't wait to go home and breathe some of that air. I spent a lot of my day answering emails, questions, & the telephone at work. For some reason this year, people in general have decided that the smallest thing in life just sends them over the top. They then have to be just not-so-nice. I guess for me this makes me want to be extra nice to people wherever I go--ya know--one tiny thing just shouldn't ruin your life!

After our evening walk, the girls were hungry so we headed to Sonic. I love to have a refreshing drink from there! We took the "back way" which is on the edge of town. I rolled down all of the windows, turned on the music and just took so many deep breaths. The air for the most part was sweet and fresh until we got to the portion of the road by the cows =). Needless to say my cherry Dr. Pepper was great and everyone was happy! We came home and had a few more minutes of light outside. Aliyah caught several fireflies--one of those summertime memories I'm sure we all share and put them in her bug container. Keirah was happy to run around the yard and play in the swing. I opened the windows in the house to enjoy some more of that fresh summer air--aahhh!

When we were kids we used to catch the lightening bugs, tear off their light/butt and wear them as rings! They were beautiful "wedding rings!"
I know we were naughty to the bugs - we also pulled legs of off the Daddy long leg spiders and threw them on our sister that was afraid of bugs!
