The Olympics are so exciting to me--ever since I was a little kid. Well, I'm happy to say...it is the excitement must be contagious. I sat on the couch last night between window washing and cleaning and cheered on the women's gymnastics all around--nervous as can be. I almost cried when the gold medalist Nastia Leukin was crying on the medals podium. I was clapping with my paper towel roll while the swimmers were racing. Of course, I was rooting on any US member and Michael Phelps in his races. Well, it seems the excitement has spread...to my kids.
Tonight, I had turned off the Games earlier because I wasn't overly interested in what they were showing. I had intentions of turning it back on after the girls were in bed. Well, I went downstairs and threw in a load of wash and came back upstairs. The TV was off, and my not-quite-2 year old who doesn't even watch TV, pulled my hand and pointed to the TV saying "swimming" "swimming". Apparently she must know the Olympic schedule because I turned it on and you guessed it--Phelps was swimming. I saw just the very end of Phelps' seventh gold medal race. I was confused because it looked like the other dude out touched him, but did not. So, she hopped up on the couch to watch. Just had to share that I've inspired another Olympic & Phelps fan.
Later, I will post on our week and trip to Chicago. It will be a long one.

We are addicted to the Olympics this year too! I tell you it needs to get over soon or I won't be able to get out of bed in the morning. The 12:30 nights are killing me!!
