Continuing in Olympic fashion this morning, our almost 2 year old pointed to the TV and said "swimming" "lympics". Josh turned on the TV and it was cartoons at that point. She continued to ask for "swimming". He proceeded to put a DVD that we recorded of the Olympics and she climbed up on the vanity seat to watch.
We had a productive yet fun day today. It was productive in that I did some landscaping. I moved several things around and cleaned up stuff that was looking "ratty" outside. I think I moved 8 things and adjusted some bricks along the flower bed. I think it looks much better. Following that, us 3 girls went to the pool. Sadly, it is the last day it is open for 2008 =( (sob, sob). We were there on opening day this season and closing day and several in between. It was a beautiful day. We even tried out each and everything there...the big slide, the little pool, the swimming pool, the lazy river and the water play area. We also made sure to soak up some sun since we are somehow losing the tans we used to have. No fear, all of us got some nice sun. Both of the girls did a lot more in the pool than they ever have. Aliyah is swimming underwater further and further to me every time. She also jumps in the pool pretty far and then goes back to the edge. Keirah likes to jump in over and over and doesn't even mind if her head goes under when jumping in. She hangs onto the side a lot as well. Aliyah had tears as we were leaving since this is the last day. It's hard for us all because it seems to take so long for it to open back up--it's not even open for 3 months of the year. We lament it all winter and long for those summer days. We really are true fans of summer.
One good thing about the Olympics for me is that inspires me to get stuff done at my house. Don't ask me why, but it is energizing of sorts. In that energized Olympic spirit, I will close the post and go vacuum.
